Hello 2016!

I hope you’ve all had an amazing break over the holidays and had a chance to relax, contemplate and hit the snooze button at least a few dozen times.

Keeping with tradition we spent our break soaking up as much sun as possible in our home state of Western Australia, dividing our time between family in Perth and Denmark (a small town about 5 hours south of Perth).

There was plenty to see in Perth, with new arrivals from friends and family to welcome, and this year we had the chance to share my home state with one of our closest friends, Aoife, whom was happy to indulge us with a personalised tour of some of our old haunts.

My parents are finally back in Perth, retired and looking relaxed, and as their house is just a few minutes from the stunning City Beach, that seemed an obvious first stop.

As the leaves outside my window change colour so quickly before my eyes, so does the time it seems. I’ve been back working full time for a few weeks now, hence it’s been a little quiet around here on the blog. With two years approaching here on the Sunday Best, I hope to introduce some new (regular) posts soon.

A big warm hug

It’s always lovely to go back to my hometown of Perth. Last week we headed back for a friend’s stunning wedding and to catch up with family. I finally had my first cuddle with my super happy (and cute) nephew Zac and to spend some relaxing time at my in-laws new farm in Denmark, five hours drive south of Perth. We picked rhubarb from the garden for dessert and hand fed Blue Wrens on the balcony which overlooks the beautiful Denmark native Karri forrest. A well deserved (and overdue) break!
